Sunday Energy #12
This Sunday I don’t have much to say, I’m hungover and sleepy so I’m going to post my suggestions below and then go dream in bed for the rest of the day. Today I’m meditating on my future self and what she needs for me to do in order to not just be “OK,” but more than OK. Thrive, even. Life is just an aggregation of choices, which is wild, and scary, but somehow empowering.
to watch
I’m a big fan of Be Kind Rewind on Youtube, her video essays on cinema and television are so informative and insightful. I really enjoyed the latest, on Joanne Woodward and the true tale behind The Three Faces of Eve.
If you haven’t seen it already, this conversation between Keke Palmer and Angela Bassett is delightful.

Remember my friend Ashley Reese’s beautiful wedding that I mentioned before? It got a write up in Vogue, it’s a lovely overview of the day accompanied by some truly beautiful photos by Sylvie Rosokoff. Check it out here.
I still think about this Harper’s Bazaar piece about Toyin Salau by Clarissa Brooks often and if you haven’t read it you should: What Could Have Saved Oluwatoyin Salau?
This bell hooks passage is 🤌🏾
